Valentine’s at Lou’s Tavern

We “Shared Some Love” with new friends at Lou’s Tavern this Valentine’s Day. It’s a great place! It is owned and run by Cindi Zayak and Joseph Barnum. Cindy is a dedicated volunteer that has helped out our organization for three years. She has so much enthusiasm for helping others that it is contagious. There were cupcakes and treats galore made by her dedicated friends, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, a great new place to relax and meet your neighbor.

Thanks to Rockers Against Hunger!

Rock the Harvest, a concert held at the Park Ridge Marriott on November 29, 2012 turned out to be a delightful time for all that attended. It consisted of 10 local bands that just love to play and sing. The music was especially entertaining because it was basically from the popular songs of the rock era of the seventies. Do you remember listening to your son playing with his friends in the basement? Well these kids are all grown up now, with careers such as lawyers, accountants, and even a mayor! But their passion for good rock and roll has never died. They still play and practice with their friends. I tell ya, I had a wonderful time just listening to the music and singing along. One happy spectator left the show at the end of the night saying “I just love listening to live music!” It’s so true, these days it’s so hard to listen to good rock and roll without having to travel to a concert, pay a huge amount of money and fight the crowd. It was a welcome surprise to hear professional musicians giving it their all and enjoy playing for a crowd that truly valued and appreciated their talents. The production was put on by Sony, with the sole purpose of raising funds for the seniors of Bergen County. Our sincere thanks to all the bands, the Sony representatives, and the Park Ridge Marriott for a great evening!
