We are just one part of a large community of organizations providing food services to seniors in Bergen County. Here is a short list of useful community services and resources.
The Bergen County Division of Senior Services provides meals, offers nutrition education and fosters social interaction at senior centers throughout Bergen County. It also offers a free Key Services Guide for Older Adults, a comprehensive directory for many services available to Bergen County seniors, including care management, transportation services, community involvement, medical assistance, affordable housing guidance, utilities assistance and much more.
The Caregivers Coalition was formed in 2008 to help improve the lives of caregivers assisting thousands of children, adults and seniors with chronic or disabling health conditions.
Care Plus NJ provides mental health and substance abuse services on a voluntary outpatient basis, and provides numerous child welfare services.
Catholic Charities can provide information and assistance on local food pantries.
The Center for Food Action operates the Statewide Emergency Food and Anti-Hunger Network. Emergency utility assistance and housing assistance are also available. They have several offices throughout Bergen County.
The Food Research and Action Center provides comprehensive information and research for improvement of policies and research regarding elderly nutrition.
